Salary details: Grade 9 £29,717 - £34,215 

Job Purpose: 

To promote and develop local transport policy in line with national, regional and sub regional strategies and ensure that the policy contributes towards the Borough Strategy, Local Area Agreement and Mayor’s Manifesto.

To contribute towards Doncaster’s input to the South Yorkshire Local Transport Plan and undertake the necessary consultation and awareness raising regarding the Local Transport Plan and related policy via a range of existing groups and forums.

To be responsible for delivery of individual schemes or bespoke transport strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To support the development of the Local Transport Plan, Annual Progress Report, Doncaster Annual Position Statement, the Local development Framework, the Borough Strategy and Mayor’s Manifesto and associated transport strategy documents through involvement in consultation exercises through preparation of documents, setting up and attendance at meetings \ exhibitions.

Supporting delivery of a range of transportation projects including feasibility studies, outline design, budget estimating, before and after monitoring and project management.

To undertake traffic studies including receiving, recording and evaluating information, in order to identify  appropriate projects as solutions.

To deal with day to day correspondence and queries regarding transportation issues.

To attend meetings relevant to the service area as required.

To undertake research and be aware of the continuing development of design and construction techniques.

To assist with the development and training of other members of staff within the group

Be involved in corporate, directorate and divisional initiatives as required to improve service delivery.
