Our client is a successful, well established consultancy specialising in transport development planning and related highway/infrastructure projects. A Technical Director is now required to take on a challenging and rewarding role in their Surrey office.

Candidates, who will be qualified with a relevant degree and, ideally, hold a relevant professional qualification too, will have a substantial private sector, consultancy background in development planning (transport), and able to deliver technically challenging small to large sized projects within budget and to agreed timescales.

Responsible for a small team of Transport Planners and Technicians, you will be responsible for winning work and developing existing clients and, as part of the company's management team, contribute to the overall business strategy and expansion of the organisation. You will undertake the technical leadership of projects, providing the technical input into transport assessments, travel plans, access strategies etc., and be responsible for the preparation and submission of fee proposals.

A good understanding of operational assessment software is required.

Our client is keen to appoint a person with a strong knowledge of the development market in the South East and central Southern regions of England. The ability to manage clients effectively is essential.

This is an exciting position for an experienced transport planner looking to progress their career in an organisation where individuals really matter. Prospects to progress beyond Technical Director level exist for the right person. The expected base salary is completely negotiable, but as a guideline is expected to be somewhere in the range of £60-85,000 p.a., plus a range of attractive benefits.
