An opportunity exists for a confident and enthusiastic person who can provide support to deliver the various programmes of work undertaken by the County Council’s Transport Planning & Programme Development Team to deliver the Council’s Local Transport Plan (LTP), including:

• The development of highway improvements
  
  
• Travel planning with local residents and workplaces
  
  
• The development of transport strategy and policy
  
  
• Consultation undertaken as part of the development of strategy and improvements
  
  
• Monitoring of the various programmes delivered by the team.Other duties include the provision of guidance and service information to customers and partners by telephone, email, in writing and face to face.Interest and knowledge of the work area is important and either a degree (or equivalent) preferably in a transportation or environmental field, or a minimum of two years’ experience in a transportation field are essential in the post. The ability to occasionally work outside normal office hours and at the weekend is desirable.
