A great opportunity has arisen for a Transport Modeller to join an expanding transport planning team in our client's West Yorkshire Office. Our client is keen to recruit an individual who has at least two years experience working with public and private sector clients, with a good awareness and knowledge of transport modelling theory, method, data collection, analytical techniques and appraisal methods. A good knowledge too, is also required of UK standards, specifications and transport planning solutions.

Experience on a range of software packages is also a requirement, for example, SATURN, TUBA, QUADRO, or COBALT etc., and although not essential, any micro-sim experience gained on VISSIM or PARAMICS would be a helpful.

The prime requirement of the role is to assist, in a team environment, on a wide range of transport studies dealing with highway and other modelling projects. You will be involved and contribute to the technical development of traffic models and forecasting studies, and the assessment of scheme impacts, including environmental, operational and economic appraisals. You should be capable in either transport modelling and analysis, highway or public transport scheme appraisal, and/or transport economics.

Candidates should have a degree in a related subject and an M.Sc or further transport planning or relevant post graduate qualifications in addition is desirable, but this is not essential. The desire to achieve Chartered status, such as C.Eng.,CMILT or TPP, is important, and my client will encourage and assist you in the process.
