The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is comprised of the twelve local authorities and three Local Enterprise Partnerships working together to move powers from Whitehall to the West Midlands and our locally elected politicians, who know this region best. Individual councils will still deliver services and retain their identity but on the big decisions we will have the resources to work together.

With a growing and fast-paced transport agenda, we are looking for a talented and experienced Principal Transport Planner to help us provide Transport Planning and appraisal services to support evidence-led development of schemes aligned to WMCA’s strategic transport plan and delivery of capital and revenue programmes.

Working closely with key internal and external organisations on transport planning issues the successful candidate will provide transport planning support in negotiations with external organisations and support the identification of best practice in transport planning work. A proven record in Transport Planning coupled with detailed knowledge of transport modeling techniques and scheme appraisal will be required.
