Senior Transport Planners:  £45,490–£51,870 p.a., including Inner London weighting; initial appointment between £45,490 and £49,210

The City of London is the world’s leading business and financial services centre. The Square Mile is home to the densest cluster of tall buildings in Europe, which presents unique transport challenges requiring innovative thinking, radical solutions, an attention to detail and a commitment to quality. We are seeking two transport planners/senior transport planners to join our small team of transport professionals working on some of Great Britain’s most high profile developments in one of its most historically important environments.

You will be enthusiastic and committed and capable of working to tight deadlines in a sometimes pressured environment. While team working is very important to us, you will need to be self starters, able to work with a minimum of supervision and to demonstrate initiative and a focus on finding solutions. The roles require an ability to form successful working relationships with stakeholders while retaining a clear focus on asserting and protecting the public interest. This necessitates an ability to marshal and synthesize evidence, comprehend complex situations and clearly articulate and effectively defend positions.

Initial appointments will be either at transport planner or at senior transport planner level, depending on your skills and experience. Internal post-appointment promotion from transport planner to senior transport planner is possible after a minimum of two years’ service subject to service requirements, very good or excellent performance of the duties of the post, and the gaining of the necessary experience and skills.

These posts operate within an agile working environment on a flexible time basis. The City of London is committed to equal opportunities. Applications to job share are welcomed.

Applications close at 12 noon on 8 October 2017
