An Associate Transport Planner is required by our client to fill a key role in their very busy transport planning team. The project work is interesting and varied, and covers most of the UK across both the private and public sectors.

A broad a background as possible in transport planning is sought, which should include some, or all, of the following :-

Funding Bids and Business Cases
Transport Policy and Strategy
Development Planning - Transport Assessments and Statements
Traffic Management
Sustainable Transport and Smarter Choices
Public Transport and Parking
Modelling and Appraisals
Scheme Delivery

As an Associate in a large team, you will take day-to-day responsibility for delivering innovative and practical solutions to clients' problems, leading multi disciplinary teams through the project life cycle. You will play a key role in team management, supervising colleagues and project managing to achieve financial goals, and contributing strongly to the technical content and delivery of projects.

A relevant degree is essential, and an M.Sc in Transport Planning in addition would be desirable, as would Chartered status, although these are not mandatory. A strong background in the delivery of a wide range of transport planning projects across a number of different areas is essential, as is experience and capability in the financial and programme management of projects using appropriate business tools.

This position offers excellent career prospects for an ambitious individual. The base salary is negotiable, based upon qualifications and experience, but probably in the range of £50-60,000 p.a., plus a car allowance, flexible working, and an excellent package of benefits and choices.
