Our multi-disciplinary client is expanding their demand analytics/forecasting team in Eastern Australia, resulting in a number of superb openings at different levels for talented people to join them.
Opportunities exist for Graduates with a minimum of 12 months relevant experience, through to Senior and Principal level people with 5-10 years experience.
Currently, the team numbers ten, which includes an associated group of Transport Planners / Operational Modellers with a range of highly developed analytical skills. The team is market leading in Australia, and undertake a wide range of high profile projects across Australia and New Zealand, which involves public transport strategic demand analysis, passenger choice modelling, and detailed passenger, customer, people demand analysis and modelling. Their is a focus on public transport (rail) stations and precincts, also for airports.
They have been particularly successful in Sydney, and in New South Wales in general, where they have delivered demand forecasts for most major public transport project investments in the last 5 years, through TfNSW and various other bodies.
Candidates must be degree qualified, and have gained good private sector consultancy experience in the development, application and documentation of multi-modal modelling and demand modelling. Strong analytical skills are needed in model estimate techniques, and also with transportation planning applications. You will also have experience of travel demand modelling software, on one or more of the common platforms.
Although not essential, the ability to work in and/or utilise new data sources and technologies would be very welcome, such as coding languages for large data (Python and C++), and the use of GTFS data and WiFi data etc.
Good written and oral communication skills are required at all levels and, for the more senior appointments, the ability to present complex information to technical and non-technical clients and colleagues is essential. Project management experience of transport modelling and / or scheme appraisal studies, and managing teams at a distance, would be helpful, again for the more senior appointments.
