With our Spatial Planning team working at the heart of major planning and investment decisions, you will play a part in a team responsible for helping ensure it stays that way. We are looking for people with big ideas and a real passion for planning to help shape the future of the capital.

An exciting time of change
In this role you will have the opportunity to lead TfL’s input to planning frameworks, policy documents, masterplans and large scale planning applications, working closely with key partners including the GLA, boroughs, developers and their consultants. In particular, you will be responsible for evaluating the technical transport aspects of planning applications, ensuring that industry best practice is being followed and promoting innovative approaches.

A chance to test your talent
You will be advising others in TfL on key issues including transport assessments, transport modelling, highway design and road safety. You will need strong negotiating skills and be able to build positive relationships with key partners. You will also have the opportunity to shape development sites throughout the planning process, encouraging good growth and promoting Healthy Streets.

If you can bring excellent communication skills and a flair for coming up with effective solutions to complex transport problems, you’re definitely someone we’d like to talk to.

What your experience needs to have involved
You will need to have had experience in major planning applications and technical assessments along with having negotiated section 106 and/or section 278 agreements. You will have influenced and advised decision makers at all levels as well as having handled complex projects.
