Salary: Grade 10, £36,153 - £39,961 per annum.

This exciting role is at the heart of the council’s agenda for growth and health and wellbeing. You will ensure that transport has a strong role in influencing the location and form of development within Wigan. You will ensure that the council is in a strong position in transport planning terms to contribute to the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework, prepare local plans, policies and guidance and assist neighbourhood planning. You will work in partnership to help accelerate the delivery of housing, economic development and transport infrastructure and services, and improve air quality.
You will have a degree and Chartered Membership of a relevant professional body and a high level of knowledge of the legal, regulatory, policy, resource and political framework within which transport and travel planning operate. You will be proactive in tackling issues around transport across all modes, to help deliver growth and housing, improve places and support healthier lifestyles.
You will be a self-starter, highly motivated, well organised and enthusiastic about the role that transport and travel planning can play. You will be an effective communicator who isable to work in partnership with all stakeholders. You will also be an effective supervisor.
