St Helen's Council is seeking an exceptional Transport Planner to fulfil a role supporting the growth agenda, enabling the exciting and unprecedented level of growth by securing innovative and sustainable transport solutions.
As a Senior Transport Officer within the Development Plans Team you will shape transport solutions across the borough reflect the opportunities from the Liverpool City Region Transport Plan for Growth, the Liverpool City Region Growth Plan and the Emerging Local Plan for St Helen's.
The successful candidate will therefore demonstrate:
• Experience in the preparation of transport policy, strategy and funding documents.
• An understanding of economic, social and environmental objectives shaping the transport agenda.
• Ability to analyse information and present conclusions in a clear and concise manner. Strong communication and project management skills being able to work individually and as a team member.
The role will require close dialogue with key stakeholders including Highways England, Mersey travel and neighbouring authorities and strong partnership working with a variety of teams across the Council. Strong communication skills, both speaking and in writing, are important attributes.
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent in a transport or planning related discipline as well as knowledge of transport planning and policy, transport appraisal techniques, and transport modelling.
