PRINCIPAL TRANSPORT PLANNER

Leicestershire County Council is seeking to recruit a Principal Transport Planner with significant experience in dealing with strategic transport matters.
As the successful candidate, you will become an essential member of the Transport Strategy & Policy Team. The role will include attending external meetings to represent the authority’s interests and to provide strategic transport planning support to externally led projects, for example including those led by Midlands Connect. You will also be working with departmental colleagues and wider authority colleagues (e.g. economic development) to provide strategic transport planning support/advice/guidance to ensure that the authority is delivering on its strategic outcomes. Vital to this will be your participation in the development of transport infrastructure funding bids. You will need to be excellent communicator with the ability to build strong and productive working relationships. Abilities to think creatively and work flexibly to accommodate often fast evolving circumstances will be amongst you key personal skills and attributes.
