We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Programme Manager to join the Transport team, overseeing and coordinating budget management and reporting of all grant offer and contractual obligations relating to the advancement of sustainable transport throughout the UK.
You will coordinate activities and communicate progress towards programme outputs and income goals across the Transport team to ensure the maximum drawdown of Department for Transport (DfT) and Transport Scotland funding. It’s a key role in which you’ll share responsibility with a Senior Account Manager Programmes for managing relationship and reporting to DfT and the Office of Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) stakeholders, including identification and mitigation of risks and proposing and negotiating modification of project specifications where necessary.
Your ability to think and plan strategically and effectively manage competing priorities to ensure successful outcomes is essential, you must have excellent finance/budget management skills, and you must also have experience in successfully compiling and managing programme budgets. Having experience in managing central government programme delivery or demonstrating a broad understanding of government sector will be beneficial to your effective performance. Additionally, an understanding of sustainable transport and its role in helping key stakeholders meet carbon reduction targets and/or understanding wider environmental issues would be an advantage.
