If so, then these exciting opportunities as a Senior Transport Modeller are for you, and we’d love to hear from you. 

We are looking for enthusiastic transport modellers to join the Department’s modelling team to enhance our modelling capability and set the direction for modelling practice in the country 

Role Responsibilities 

As part of your role, your responsibilities will include: 

• Instigating and managing leading-edge research with the aim of enhancing modelling methods used across the industry including maintaining and developing the Department’s Transport Analysis Guidance 
• Providing analysis and research to support the development and use of the Department’s strategic models including the National Trip End Model (NTEM) and the National Transport Model (NTM) 
• Providing analytical assurance, transport assessment advice and modelling review for various project activities including liaising with local authorities and transport bodies across England 
• Developing, maintaining and running the Department’s aviation transport models to provide robust and influential forecasts and analysis that underpin policy advice 

You will have the opportunity to engage with experts in their field, and from working as part of a wider multidisciplinary community of analysts to maintain our very strong reputation within Government for analysis, and use of evidence in policy making.

About you

You will have relevant practical experience in transport modelling and analysis and be confident in expressing your ideas in challenging situations. You will have good project management skills with a proven track record of delivery. 

You will be a self-starter who can build rapport quickly to collaborate with your colleagues and stakeholders. You will have a mathematical mind with a flair for analysing and solving problems.
