Position Title: Principal Policy Officer
Salary: Grade 9 £38,813 to £42,683 (Bar at £41,675) per annum
Contract Type: Full Time Permanent
Hours: 35 per week

This is an exciting role within the Planning and Infrastructure team with this role responsible for the day-to-day development and coordination of transport policy and strategy related activity.
The role combines working on policy development to feed into the update of Manchester's Local Plan; and on a range of projects that seek to develop and implement strategy and policy.
The role will ensure high level advice, briefing and analysis is available to support senior officers, elected members and key stakeholders in achieving the authority’s strategic objectives as set out in the Our Manchester Strategy.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who will work collaboratively with colleagues within the Planning and Infrastructure team. You will have experience of working on transport policy potentially within a Local Plans team or from working in other policy environments with a mix of disciplines.
The Planning and Infrastructure team is leading on updating Manchester's Local Plan; and has a portfolio of projects that seek to implement across a range of planning and infrastructure projects including a number of transport initiatives.
