Principal Transport Planner

£40,356 - £45,140 per annum

An opportunity has arisen for a Principal Transport Planner to take a lead role and the responsibility for the management and the delivery of defined services within the Strategic Transportation function.

The post will require an ability to think innovatively and proactively and the role will require sound financial and project management skills.  As an experienced professional, you will be able to demonstrate your expertise in strategy development, transport policy, major transport scheme development, project management, and master planning. You will:

  • Provide day-to-day direction, guidance and supervision to a team of transport planners
  • Understand the demand for transport capital interventions and improved transport infrastructure and services
  • Design, deliver and manage the activity to meet the identified transport needs of the borough
  • Work with, and co-ordinate the activities of, key internal and external partners to maximise their contributions.

A Degree (BA/BSc) in Geography, Urban or Town Planning, Transport Planning, Civil Engineering or relevant proven experience; a post graduate qualification; and membership of a relevant professional institute are all key to this exciting post.

Senior Transport Planner

£32,552 - £37,475 per annum

We have an exciting opportunity as a Senior Transport Planner within our team, to help design and develop major transport schemes and support transport policy and strategy formulation.  You will be involved in supporting senior staff and contributing to successful project delivery.

You will work amongst a team of transport professionals and will have the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of our projects from inception to completion. You would have a broad understanding of all elements of the transport planning profession.  Most importantly, you will have a passion for transport and will be keen to add value to both our clients and the wider community. If you are looking to take your career to the next level, then this could be the opportunity for you.

Essential to this post is a Degree (BA/BSc) in Geography, Urban or Town Planning, Transport Planning, Civil Engineering or relevant proven experience in a highway engineering / transportation planning role.
