About the team

The transport planning team is a small, focused, unit of transport experts, accountable for forecasting, prioritisation, and appraisal of transport and mobility projects.

We work closely with colleagues across the Policy, Strategy, and Innovation Directorate, and employ a wide range of tools, models, and technical approaches in this activity.

The team is also central to the downstream monitoring and evaluation of the impacts of transport and future mobility projects and is responsible for adding results to the evidence base for new project development.

You will have some strategic transport modelling experience (VISUM desirable), either gained within the public sector or on public sector-based projects. You are a numerate problem-solver, with good spreadsheet/database skills, plus an interest and proficiency in transport appraisal and forecasting, gained in your career to date.
