The starting salary is £34,373 (Level One) rising to £36,371 (Level Two) on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period.

The Transport Strategy service is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join an ambitious and innovative team. The team has a central role in preparing and implementing the statutory Local Transport Plan. It also supports the Carbon Neutral 2028 Plan and other economic and environmental strategies. The post offers the opportunity to work in all aspects of local transport planning ranging from policy development, bidding for funding, commissioning projects, scheme delivery, communications and monitoring and evaluation activities. The post holder will develop, implement and monitor sustainable transport policies and projects and contribute transport planning expertise to meet Council and partner objectives within corporate plans and programmes.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
•    Thorough knowledge of current transport planning policy practice and transport project development
•    Experience of writing transport policies and preparation of transport strategies and plans
•    Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both orally and in writing with other team members, colleagues, senior officers, Councillors, employers and businesses
•    Ability to explain and evidence proposals at meetings with project teams and other interested parties
