Greater Anglia appoints Wilkinson as Integration Manager

Paul Wilkinson (pictured) has joined train operator Greater Anglia as integrated transport manager. He was transportation policy manager at Colchester Borough Council.

Torrance leaves Sustrans

Jason Torrance has left active travel charity Sustrans, where he was policy director, to become a freelance consultant on walking and cycling.

Network Rail chief Carne to retire

Network Rail chief executive Mark Carne is to step down later this year. He joined the organisation?in 2014. Paying tribute to Carne, transport secretary Chris Grayling hinted that he may take up another position in transport: “I hope he will continue to play an important part in the transport sector in the future.”

Low joins WSP from AECOM 

Lucy Low has joined consultant WSP as a principal transport planner from AECOM where she was a senior consultant. 

Brunskill joins West Midlands Rail

Pete Brunskill has joined local authority company West Midlands Rail Ltd as rail scheme sponsor. He was HS2 and rail lead at local authority and local enterprise partnership body Midlands Connect. 

Deegan advises GMCA on active travel

Brian Deegan, a design engineer at consultant Urban Movement, is serving as walking and cycling infrastructure lead to the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, advising on design quality, network planning and infrastructure delivery. He was also appointed healthy streets adviser to Leicester’s elected mayor Peter Soulsby last month (LTT 19 Jan). Deegan co-authored the London Cycling Design Standards when working as a principal technical specialist at Transport for London from 2013 to 2017.  

Haslam leads TPA’s new Manchester office

Susan Haslam has joined consultant Transport Planning Associates as an associate director to lead its new Manchester office. Haslam was previously technical director at transport and infrastructure consultant FMW. The Manchester office is TPA’s first in the north of England. Its other offices are in Bristol, Cambridge, London, Oxford and Welwyn Garden City.

Taylor joins Intelligent Data from Atkins

Bradley Taylor has joined Intelligent Data as a business development manager, responsible for public sector sales and development. He joins from Atkins where we was a senior transport technology consultant.

Iain Stewart, the Conservative MP for Milton Keynes South, has been appointed chair of a new All-Party Parliamentary Group for the Oxford-Milton Keynes-Cambridge corridor.
