Kirklees - Transport Strategy & Policy Lead
£49,497 - £50,396 + £4,000 market supplement
Flexible Working Arrangements (Home and Office based)
Our future is your vision.
In Kirklees, building economic resilience is about working with the business community and partners to create more and better jobs, supporting local people to have the skills and qualifications to be successful. It’s also about creating the conditions where people and businesses can thrive and grow, and having the right infrastructures that build confidence and investment into Kirklees. That’s where you come in.
It’s an exciting time to join Kirklees Council. We’re looking for dynamic and ambitious people to help to push forward our plans for transport. Working across the Leeds City Region and establishing professional relationships with our partners, this is a real opportunity to deliver the future of sustainable transportation in a large metropolitan district - including £multi-million investments into active travel, rail and bus infrastructure.
It’s a key role where you’ll lead the development of transport policy and strategy that will underpin a resilient transport infrastructure network that supports a thriving economy, where citizens have a good quality of life and business can take advantage. There’s already a great team in place for you to lead.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with highly developed interpersonal, organisational and negotiation skills along with good programme and project management experience. You should be passionate about securing great outcomes for sustainable travel and have a strong desire to prove yourself at this level. You’ll also have relevant proven experience and expertise at a senior level that will enable you to play a vital role in leading, developing, commissioning and delivering.
