Arriva Southern Counties, is part of Arriva’s UK Bus division and operates some 700 buses in an area stretching from north Essex, Hampshire, across Kent to the Surrey / Hampshire border.

We have a vacancy for an Operations Manager at our Guildford depot, where we employ some 150 staff and operate a fleet of 70 vehicles on commercial and contracted bus services.

Reporting to the Depot General Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the depot’s operational team. Service delivery improvement and all aspects of service quality are a key part of the role. In addition the job holder is accountable for local Trade Union liaison and negotiation, resource planning, compiling budgets and the motivation and development of their team to continuously improve depot performance.

The role requires an individual with a flexible approach and a strong determination to achieve high standards of operational performance.  It will be an advantage to have previous operations management experience from within a bus operations or transport and logistics environment.

The job holder will be required  to reside within a 45 minute travel time of the depot.
