We are currently recruiting for a Principal Engineer for Public Transport to work on a full-time contract. This role will be based out of Keynsham however flexible working patterns are available.

 

About the role:

 

A great opportunity to work in public transport on both a regional and local platform. You will have a key role in shaping the transport policy across the West of England area and within Bath & North East Somerset at a time where transport policy and travel behaviours are key in achieving our climate emergency objectives.

 

The primary role will be to develop and ensure an effective working relationship with the West of England Combined Authority; to shape and support the Integrated Transport Authority’s public transport plans. In addition, we have an ambitious City Regional Transport Settlement programme to deliver requiring expert public transport collaboration.

 

About you:

 

You will be an enthusiastic public transport professional, ready to take on a more senior role, bringing expert knowledge of legislation and energy to addressing the challenges this sector faces. With responsibility for providing advice on new infrastructure projects across our city, market towns and rural communities this role requires broad knowledge, great inter personal skills, critical analysis and quick thinking with a strong background of public engagement.

 

Your main place of work will be the award-winning, modern Civic Centre in Keynsham, halfway between Bath and Bristol, easily accessible via car or public transport, with a train station 5 minutes’ walk away.
