An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Network Planning and Services Manager to join our Integrated Passenger Transport Group.
It’s an exciting time to be joining the Integrated Passenger Transport Group. As a region we have secured a significant amount of Bus Service Improvement Plan funding and a range of capital and revenue projects are being delivered by the council and regional partners. You will play a lead in the County’s response to the National Bus Strategy including Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) and Enhanced Partnership Plan and Scheme.
WHAT IS INVOLVED?
You will be responsible for the operational and strategic management and development of the Passenger Transport Network & Business Support Section of the Integrated Passenger Transport Group co-ordinating and delivering transport services on behalf of the County Council. You will be managing teams which take the lead role for the Integrated Passenger Transport Group in respect of:
- Planning and delivery of tendered bus services (including local public transport services, home to school transport and adult social care transport) in accordance with the strategy and policies;
- Maximising the effectiveness of the public transport network in meeting the needs of the community,
- Provide a lead role in the County’s response to the National Bus Strategy including Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) and Enhanced Partnership Plan and Scheme.
- Coordination and management of the County’s concessionary seat scheme in respect of home to school transport.
- Design and management of the ENCTS
- The business support function within the group

WHAT WILL I NEED?
You will need a Degree or equivalent OR have substantial relevant experience.
You will have experience of delivering a large programme to strict cost and time deadlines with an ability to analyse complex problems/issues and arrive at constructive solutions.
An awareness of the Government's transport agenda and the role of effective and efficient public transport services is essential.

HYBRID WORKING
Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.
