Warrington is one of the most successful towns in the country, regularly being ranked as one of the best places in the UK for economic performance and quality of life for its residents.
With Warrington’s economic success, regeneration and growth we need an Engineer to assist with the technical design, procurement and supervision of a wide range of exciting engineering and sustainable travel projects within the borough, both on and off highway supporting the Council’s Local Transport Plan and capital investment programme.
The role falls within the Transport for Warrington Service area, providing an internal design and delivery service for the Directorate, and is based at our new offices in the Time Square development within the Town Centre.
To succeed in this role the post holder will need to have previous experience of a wide range of highway design projects, being able to demonstrate all aspects from initial concept/feasibility to construction on site. The role requires a passionate individual who can demonstrate that only the highest standards of work are accepted in a busy, fast paced and often challenging environment.
It will be necessary for the post holder to have a driving licence as travel around the borough is an essential requirement of the position. The post holder will be a key contact for numerous stakeholders within the borough and as such will need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills whilst maintaining professional standards and creating good working relationships between the Council and external bodies.
In return we can support your professional development aspirations towards membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Highways and Transportation for example.
If you wish to discuss the role in more detail, or have an informal chat, please contact Alison Roberts, Delivery Manager on 01925 443322.
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
