Help Shape the Future of Sheffield's Transport Network
Sheffield isn't just England's fourth largest city it's also the UK's greenest. And we are growing. Our newly adopted Growth Plan sets out a bold vision for a connected, sustainable, and inclusive city, where moving around is safer, easier, and better for everyone.

As part of this transformation, Sheffield City Council is investing in its transport infrastructure to build a safe, reliable, and low-carbon network fit for the future. Our ambitious Connecting Sheffield projects aim to provide more choice for people travelling by public transport, on foot, or by bike creating a healthier, greener city for all.

About the Roles
To help deliver this vision, we are looking for Senior Engineers and Senior Technicians to join our Transport Projects Team.

We need experienced, creative, and committed professionals with a solid background in transport projects and traffic engineering disciplines to join an established team of multi-disciplinary engineers. You will play a key role in developing concept solutions for projects in often constrained and complex environments, with a strong emphasis on active travel, public transport improvements, and road safety schemes.

What We Are Looking For
• Experience in a range of transport and traffic engineering projects.
• Ability to develop innovative and practical infrastructure solutions using software packages such as AutoCAD.
• Sound knowledge of current design standards and an understanding of their environmental and climate impacts.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A collaborative approach, working alongside our external design and construction partner.

You will primarily be involved in concept and preliminary design development but will also provide ongoing technical assurance throughout project delivery to ensure our ambitious plans are successfully realised.

Why Sheffield?
This is a city of change ambitious, creative, diverse, and community-driven. From its unique geography to its thriving cultural scene, Sheffield offers an environment that is as rewarding to work in as it is to live in.

If you are passionate about transport, sustainability, and shaping the future of one of the UKs most exciting cities, we want to hear from you.
