Salary: Grade 8 £35,336 to £39,571 (Bar at £38,553) per annum

The Highways Engineering Design Team (EDT) are responsible for the design and implementation of highway and traffic engineering schemes ranging from minor site-specific Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) schemes to major area-wide traffic management projects. The aim of the team is to meet the needs of the city and our residents by providing the best possible service and working efficiently towards a safe and sustainable highway network.
This post is full time however Manchester City Council are supportive of flexible working arrangements. We are looking for individuals ideally with a Highways Design or Traffic Engineering background.
The applicant must:
• Have relevant traffic engineering or highway design experience AND
• Hold an undergraduate degree or MSc in a relevant transportation or engineering discipline
• Or hold a HNC / HND in Engineering or relevant equivalent
• Or be a Chartered or Incorporated Engineering with a relevant institution membership

Working style: Blended/Hybrid Working
As a blended worker, you may be able to work from home or remotely some of the time, or for certain tasks or limited days or hours. For the remainder of the time, you will be required to work at council sites or offices. This will depend on your role’s responsibilities and your personal circumstances.
