Aylesbury Garden Town Senior Transport Officer
£34,322 - £38,097 per annum
Closing Date - 11th November 2018
If you are after a new and exciting challenge, and want to make a meaningful difference for Buckinghamshire’s communities, then Buckinghamshire County Council has just the role for you.
This is your opportunity to be part of an exciting project, working on the delivery and transformation of Aylesbury into a Garden Town. The town is expanding with the addition of more than 15,000 new homes and putting the right infrastructure in place is central to the Garden Town vision. You will play a key role in ensuring that transport schemes, identified as critical for the town’s future, are ready to be delivered. You’ll oversee their progression from concept, through the feasibility stage, including securing funding and ultimately their handover to delivery partners.
About the role
Both Aylesbury Vale District Council and Buckinghamshire County Council have been successful with their initial bids for Housing Infrastructure Funding to provide essential infrastructure for Aylesbury Garden Town. There is also an agreed Aylesbury Transport Strategy, and it will be your responsibility to take the priority schemes forward.
We are looking for an experienced transport planning professional with experience of taking scheme concepts and developing these into workable solutions. You’ll also need excellent communication and negotiation skills, as you’ll be liaising with a range of different partners.
Although this post will report into Buckinghamshire County Council, you’ll be part of the Aylesbury Garden Town team, sharing your time between BCC and AVDC.
Please see Job Summary for more information.
