Transport Technical Officer (P10798)
Location: Marsh Lane Depot, Lymington with requirement to work at other depots on occasion
Salary: £24,290 - £33,105 per year
Hours: 37 per week

The New Forest District Council (NFDC) has the opportunity of a permanent position for a vehicles and equipment Technical Officer within the Transport team based at the Marsh Lane Depot, Lymington, SO41 9BX offices. This is a new role that will have scope for development.

The Transport section is a small, but supportive, and dynamic team. The team has come under new management, and is looking for innovative ideas to support new, efficient approaches to working, meeting the needs of the Council's sustainability and efficiency targets. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who is motivated to work closely with the front line, keen to learn about the vehicles and equipment at the Council's disposal, and to also gain experience and insight into the modern way the Council is run.

It is a full-time role based at Marsh Lane Depot, Lymington, SO41 9BX, Transport office, but occasionally involves visiting and working at other NFDC depots. However, the working arrangements will be reviewed in line with Covid 19 restrictions, and therefore, home working may be agreed, on some days, based on the dynamic circumstances.

NFDC has brought all vehicle, plant and equipment work in-house, and are responsible for procuring assets and providing a maintenance and repair package for all vehicle, plant, and equipment.

Included in your skills is self-motivation, an effective and supportive team member, providing up to date asset technical information, ensuring the suppliers and manufacturers parts and products are fully compliant with NFDC’s specification and requirements, manage small projects, be analytical to drive efficiencies.
