Rural Policy & Campaigns Officer

CPRE-The Countryside Charity

Rural Policy & Campaigns Officer

We need a Rural Policy & Campaigns officer to provide vital research and analysis for our high profile campaigns on rural affordable housing and transport.

Rural Policy & Campaigns Officer
Job ref: RPCO
Based: London N1 office based - but ability to work 2-3 days from home
Salary: Circa £33,500 per annum (London & South East);
Circa £29,000 per annum (outside of London & South East)

Rural communities are facing many major challenges. Two of the most critical are getting more genuinely affordable homes built to meet community needs, and also a revival of rural public transport to address the needs of those who can’t or don’t want to drive. Our recent research calling for an ‘Every Village Every Hour’ rural bus network and stronger controls over AirBnB and other short-term property lettings in rural communities have already had high impact and influence. We need an enthusiastic and well-organised person to take on our research and campaigning work in these areas.

You’ll have strong analytical and research skills and a good understanding of, and passion for, the rural housing and transport issues that CPRE campaigns on. We are particularly keen to hear from people who have delivered policy research projects that have led to clear changes in national government policy.

CPRE places high value on equality. We treat everyone with respect and consideration because we know it’s the right thing to do. We also know that diverse teams make much better decisions, are more creative and more stimulating to work in. So, if you join us, you will be able to help us put equality, the environment and diversity at the centre of everything we do. We hope you like the sound of the job and will take the time to apply!

Closing date: Thursday 23 June 2022
