About The Team & Role
Join our dynamic and dedicated team in Gloucestershire as a Highways Asset and Business Manager, where you will embark on an exciting new challenge of improving and maintaining the highways infrastructure in the region. As a vital member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by overseeing all aspects of highways asset and business management, ensuring that our council achieves the desired outcomes and maintains the highest standards.
In this role, you will take charge of developing, implementing, and maintaining the Asset Management Plan and associated strategies, policies, and processes within our local authority. Your deep understanding of asset management principles, risk-based prioritisation and your proactive approach to communications will be instrumental in driving our success and enhancing our operational efficiency.

About You
As the Asset & Business Manager you will have the freedom to bring innovative working methods to the table, further developing and improving asset management and businesses practices across our highways service, as well as leading on our Highway Skills Academy.
As a member of our senior leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in building and nurturing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Regularly engaging with these stakeholders, you will oversee highways service delivery and ensure seamless collaboration and communication. Your track record of leading customer-focused teams and your exceptional team management skills will contribute to fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Your ability to lead, motivate, and develop talent at all levels has resulted in high-performing teams and exceptional customer satisfaction.
To be considered for this role, it is essential that you hold a current, full driving license valid for driving in the UK. This requirement highlights the hands-on nature of the position, as you will be actively involved in monitoring and inspecting the highways infrastructure, gathering data, and assessing asset conditions to inform your strategic decisions.
