Cambridgeshire County Council will be launching a Permit Scheme for Road Works and Street Works in Summer 2016. The aim of the scheme is to improve our capability to effectively manage and maintain the local highway network for the safe and efficient use of road space, whilst allowing Promoters access to maintain their services and assets.

In order to run the new service we are seeking a Street Works and Permitting Manager to be responsible for the overall integrity of the Cambridgeshire Permit Scheme.

The post holder will be responsible for managing the Permit Scheme and the Street Works service ensuring all works are carried out in accordance with the National Conditions for Permit Schemes, Codes of Practice of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and the network management requirements of the Traffic Management Act 2004, all with minimum disruption to highway users.

We are seeking an enthusiastic person ready for a new challenge. This is an exciting new opportunity for an experienced manager to shape the new Cambridgeshire Permit Scheme and change the way street works are managed in Cambridgeshire. The role is based in Huntingdon.
