Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council deliver services across areas such as transport, new infrastructure, roads, and the environment. It aims to manage and deliver the growth and development of sustainable communities, meet the challenges of climate change and enhance the natural environment. This role is based within the Highways service which manages, maintains and improves the county’s transport network and is responsible for the county's transport assets.

The Highways service operates from a number of bases across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, with a central base in Huntingdon. We are flexible about work location, but the ability to travel to different locations is essential.

As an Engineer, you will be required to lead the delivery of a wide range of highway improvements and maintenance projects to deliver the Council’s objectives, engage with key partners and ensure that engagement with communities and businesses is at the heart of the service.

As a key member of the Projects Team you will have experience of the development, planning, design and implementation of transport infrastructure with strong project management and communication skills. Extensive knowledge of technical and contractual requirements is also a key aspect for this role.
