We are seeking to appoint a Project Manager in the City Transport Service (CT), in the Economy of Place Directorate in Bristol City Council.
This role will take the lead in delivering an array of different projects and programmes across Bristol.
Bristol is a modern European City with an ambitious agenda both within the City itself but more widely within the West of England Combined Area (WECA).
The Mayor’s One City Plan and Corporate Strategy detail a wide range of targets and this role will be key in delivering projects to help meet those targets.
Key amongst these targets is our Ecological and Climate Emergency Commitments, the latter for the City to be carbon neutral by 2030.
You will be working with a range of both internal and external stakeholders such as Planning, Sustainable Transport, Maintenance, City Design, Public Transport providers, business community Cabinet Member, local ward councillors, members of the public and residents of Bristol.
Recently completed projects include the delivery of the City’s contribution towards the £220m West of England metroBus programme.
We are also developing our response to the Governments Clean Air Directive, which is likely to result in form of Clean Air Zone being implemented later this year.
We are supporting the Mayor’s ambitious programme to increase affordable housing numbers across the City.
Other major projects that will need to be developed range from programme of eight Strategic Public Transport Corridors, development and rollout out of Liveable Neighbourhoods in the city, Mass Transit, MetroWest, Housing Infrastructure Fund bids to Government, Workplace Parking Levy and many more.
This is an exciting opportunity for a project manager who wants to play an integral part in leading the development of Bristol into the future as a sustainable green city as well as its links with the wider West of England region.
