Salary: GRADE 10 (£46,464 - £49,498)
Closing date: 4 March 2024
Job reference: ERGE-64-23

Warrington is one of the most successful towns in the country, regularly being ranked as one of the best places in the UK for economic performance and quality of life for its residents.

With Warrington’s economic success, and ambitious plans for regeneration, growth and tackling climate change, we need an experienced Engineer to join our friendly and welcoming team to assist with the technical design, procurement and supervision of a wide range of engineering and sustainable travel projects within the borough, both on and off highway promoted by the Council.

This is an exciting time to join our team, where your primary function will be to take a lead role in the efficient and effective design and delivery of numerous projects in support of the Council’s Local Transport Plan and capital investment programme.

The role falls within the Transport for Warrington Service area, providing an internal design and delivery service for the Environment and Transport Directorate, and is based at our new offices in the Time Square development within the Town Centre.

To succeed in this role the post holder will need to have previous experience of a wide range of highway design projects, being able to demonstrate all aspects from initial concept to detailed design to construction on site. The role requires a passionate individual who can demonstrate that only the highest standards of work are accepted in a busy, fast paced and often challenging environment.

It will be necessary for the post holder to have a driving licence as travel around the borough is an essential requirement of the position. The post holder will be a key contact for numerous stakeholders within the borough and as such will need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills whilst maintaining professional standards and creating good working relationships between the Council and external bodies.

In return we will provide you with development opportunities in highways and transport within a Local Government setting and can support training aspirations towards memberships of the Institution of Civil Engineers and Institution of Highway and Transportation for example.
