Transport development in Leeds is moving at a fast pace with a pipeline of major investments comprising over £500 million worth of projects including new public transport investments, highways, active travel and city centre place making preparing for a future which includes HS2.

We are looking for an experienced transport planner / modeller to lead a small team advising on traffic and transport policy, providing transport inputs to spatial planning, major project modelling and appraisal and project / programme management. The post holder will have specific responsibility for the development, operation and maintenance of the Leeds Transport Model (LTM) a complex multi-modal model which utilises both generic and bespoke software.

The post holder will have a degree or equivalent level qualification in a numerate subject or one directly relevant to transport planning and must have extensive practical experience in the use of Saturn modelling software, as well as scheme appraisal and the development of transport policies. The successful applicant will be expected to supervise staff, work under their own initiative, and contribute within a team environment.
