The Role

Reporting to the Assistant Director for Inclusion & SEND, you will manage a home to school transport service for over 7,000 children and young people across Birmingham.

This will entail managing contracts with multiple transport suppliers (such as specialist taxi, bus and coach operators), planning the necessary routes, and monitoring operational performance.

You will be tasked with the delivery of current and future business priorities, which will include:
• Delivering a significant change programme that will ensure the ongoing provision of excellent services for users and stakeholders.
• Taking advantage of “New Ways of Working” and the financial and operational opportunities that this will provide.
• Implementing a new IT system that will facilitate enhanced route planning and performance monitoring.

Consequently, we are looking for an ambitious and talented transport professional with experience of managing a large home to school or specialist transport service, as well as highly-effective communication, project management and financial management skills.
