The role sits within the Integrated Transport Unit (ITU). The ITU delivers transport services for the bus network, school transport and Adult Care Services transport ensuring transport users have access to a high quality, efficient journey. The ITUs aim is to deliver improvements through new technology, understanding user needs and identifying best practice.
This role will be fundamental in that ambition and will seek out and deliver improvements for transport users to reduce social isolation, improve transport access to healthcare, shopping, education, workplaces and to ensure transport users can interact within their communities. You will need to have relevant professional experience, including experience of working on transport projects, data analysis and report writing together with a broad knowledge of transport legislation.
Purpose of The Role
Within this role you will provide support on projects relating to transport initiatives within the Integrated Transport Unit, with a specific focus on Demand Responsive Transport and Community Transport. You will take responsibility for identifying areas of growth and improvement of the services and contributing to their related work packages.
You will be responsible for analysing statistics and contributing to regular reports for all relevant projects along with assisting with any bid writing for future funding.
You will work closely with external parties, deal with customer service enquiries and contribute to marketing campaigns for the projects.
Challenges and Opportunities
Your main duties will be focused on the Demand Responsive Transport projects within Hertfordshire, alongside working on smaller projects for Community Transport. Key challenges will include communicating with stakeholders to secure support for projects and effectively prioritising the project workload.
Technical Skills
You will need to have excellent project management skills as well as the ability to create and maintain high-quality project documentation, it would be beneficial for the postholder to hold a project management qualification.
You will have the ability to build and maintain good relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, including members of the public, project partners, colleagues and senior decision-makers. You will work effectively in a team and on your own, remaining calm under pressure and have the ability to prioritise your workload to meet deadlines.
