Exciting opportunity – G9 Principal Transport Planner
Do you have considerable experience in the transport strategy and policy, and are you looking for your next career development opportunity?
Sheffield has a bold vision to become a net zero-carbon city, working with our partners, residents, businesses and city institutions to help make this a reality. Due a recent retirement, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the City Transport team to lead the development and delivery of transport policy including in the areas of electric vehicles, walking, wheeling and cycling, parking, and intelligent transport systems.
We’re keen to hear from candidates who have good awareness of national and local transport priorities, and the wider role transport plays in creating communities in which people want to live, and businesses want to invest.
With the ability to build effective partnerships to ensure the co-creation of policy, plans and programme delivery, you’ll be able to manage multiple projects with complex requirements. You will have experience of producing and managing technical and strategic documents, and understand the importance of data, engagement and attention to detail in such a pivotal role for the city.
You will be responsible for the management of an experienced and committed team, and with the support of the Service Manager, help to co-ordinate resources, manage performance, and strive for continued improvement within a busy yet rewarding area.
If you join our dedicated friendly team, you will enjoy a supportive and flexible work environment in Sheffield’s award-winning outdoor city.
