As a Coordinator, you'll be the face of First Travel Solutions. You will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the safe and timely operation of our rail replacement bus and coach services. You will assist passengers and the general public with information and excellent customer service. If you have a passion for transport and customer service and you would like to work flexible hours to suit you and at a competitive rate of pay, then we'd very much like to hear from you.

About us
First Travel Solutions (FTS) is the provider of rail replacement services to a number of First Rail Holding's rail companies, including TransPennine Express (TPE), South Western Railway (SWR) and Great Western Railway (GWR). We step in during times of rail disruption to ensure that passengers can continue their journey seamlessly, with minimal disruption, using our rail replacement services.

As part of First, we are committed to delivering excellent customer service to our rail clients and their passengers and we deliver this through our dedicated team of Coordination staff and approved network of vehicle suppliers.

As the UK's leading supplier of vehicles for time sensitive, critical passenger movements, FTS also provide varied types of passenger transport nationwide, from single vehicles to multiple buses and coaches for large scale and high-profile sporting, cultural and corporate events.

About the role
To enhance our services for our rail clients, we are expanding our team of Rail Replacement Coordinators across the GWR and SWR networks, which serve hundreds of rail stations across the south of England.

You would be working on an annualised hours contract (minimum 10 hours per year). Shifts which are largely at weekends, are offered as and when we have operations running, giving you a variety of shifts times and locations, and working hours that suit you. For this reason, our Coordinators come from all walks of life and many choose to work for us alongside other jobs. Our Coordination staff are great ambassadors, resilient, collaborative and caring. Working as part of a team, they balance great customer care with the highest safety standards at all times.

What you'll need
- Applicants must be aged 21 and above for safety reasons
- Must have access to your own transport
- We are looking for enthusiastic, approachable individuals, ideally with experience working in the transport industry, who know how to and are committed to providing consistently fabulous customer service. A good communicator who gets on well with people, you must be patient, reliable and calm under pressure. You will be confident working independently and using your initiative. You would also have the flexibility to work a variety of shift times, including early mornings, evenings, late nights and weekends. The role is a physical one – you will not only be on your feet for long periods of time, but you will also be working outside, sometimes without shelter depending on the station facilities and operational plan.

Our rewards
We'll provide you with comprehensive induction training to support you in the role. Alongside an attractive pay rate, you'll also enjoy a range of FirstGroup benefits such as free travel on our buses, a pension scheme with free life assurance and the chance to buy discounted FirstGroup shares. Our rewards also include FirstXclusives where you and your family can benefit from travel discounts and over 3,000 offers on a variety of goods and services.
