Transport Strategy Manager
£46,549 - £49,590
The South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (MCA) brings together the local authorities of Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield and the private sector through the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP). These bodies together serve the communities and businesses of South Yorkshire. From transport to housing, from business growth to skills, the MCA has a great story to tell. We have ambitions to deliver economic growth and prosperity for people, businesses, and places across South Yorkshire.
We are looking for a Transport Strategy Manager to help us deliver on these ambitious plans to provide better, more sustainable transport across the region. Your extensive knowledge across all transport modes will be vital to supporting mobility and accessibility including new models of delivery and ways of thinking for the Mayoral Combined Authority (MCA).
As our Transport Strategy Manager you will manage and lead the development of innovative and effective transport strategies for MCA and, where appropriate, partner organisations across both public and private sectors. You will take responsibility for reviewing and updating our Transport Strategy.
Strong leadership and effective communication will be crucial to success in the role, as will stakeholder management, as you’ll frequently be involved in liaising at a senior level with our local transport authorities, Government departments and infrastructure owners and providers.
You will be a confident communicator, with well-developed management skills, to include an ability to think creatively and implement solution and outcome focussed problem solving with an ability to initiate and manage change through influence and collaboration.
In return, we offer a competitive salary, hybrid working, access to a local Government Pension Scheme and the chance to be part of an organisation where you can really make a difference. Located in a vibrant city centre location, we are well-placed for transport links and encourage employees to take advantage of a range of benefits, including active travel facilities. We believe in a healthy work/life balance.
If you have any questions about the role or would like an informal discussion, please contact John Lamb, Interim Director of Strategic Transport via Claire Duckenfield ([email protected]) .
