An Associate Transport Planner is required to fill a challenging and interesting role within our clients' main transport planning team in Manchester.

Degree qualified, and possibly Chartered, you will have extensive experience of transport planning including traffic engineering, modelling, and travel planning. In addition, you should have extensive experience of managing transport projects, and the commercial aspects of bidding, winning and delivering successful schemes.

This position particularly requires a person with a good knowledge of micro-simulation software packages, either VISSIM and/or PARAMICS.

In addition to the above, our client is looking for the following skills :-

(1)  Extensive development planning experience; transport assessments, travel plans etc.;

(2)  A sound understanding of the development control process;

(3)  The ability to produce high quality reports and technical documents;

(4)  A good knowledge of WebTAG, WelTAG, DMRB etc.;

(5)  Experience of multi-modal modelling and public transport.

The role includes the day to day management of project teams, and the development of the regional client base, with particular emphasis on the application of micro-simulation to both the private and public sectors.
