Senior Transport Planner
Location: Maidstone, Kent (Work from Home during COVID-19 lockdown)
Starting salary £29,446 per annum
Fixed Term Full Time, 37 hours per week for 12 months
A fixed term contract opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and skilled Senior Transport Planner to join the Transport Strategy Team at Kent County Council for a period of 12 months, starting in July 2020, playing a proactive role in supporting growth across Kent.
You’ll contribute to delivering the transport strategy function which plays a central role in supporting the development of the County Council’s position on a range of strategic transport planning matters including the new Local Transport Plan, the new transport strategy for the emerging Sub-national Transport Body – Transport for the South East, the Kent and Medway Energy and Low Emissions Strategy, the Growth and Infrastructure Framework, the Kent Environment Strategy, and major transport schemes across the County.
Qualified to NVQ Level 5 or equivalent in a related discipline, your experience includes strategic transport planning in a complex and varied environment, in the public and/or private sectors. You possess a thorough understanding of current and emerging national transport policy, economic appraisal and business case development, project management skills that enable you to support the delivery of major projects within agreed budget and timescales, excel in partnership working and relationship building whilst managing a busy and diverse workload.
