About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced transportation professional and project manager to join our busy Strategic Transport team.
We have an unique opportunity to transform our transport system in order to address the climate and ecological emergencies while delivering the connectivity our residents and businesses need to thrive.
We have an exciting list of projects to develop and deliver funded by a £120m City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement (CRSTS). We also continue to make successful bids for funding to implement major highway schemes, and sustainable / active travel schemes promoting walking, cycling, health and wellbeing.
The wider Strategic Transport team includes staff working on future transport policy, development control, and active travel and electric vehicle schemes, to name a few. This post is an opportunity for establishing and developing yourself in a truly collaborative service.
About you:
We are looking for a motivated and experienced individual who is looking to take the next step in developing their career. You should have previous experience in transport, be well organised, resilient, and possess excellent and effective communication and report writing skills to influence key decision makers.
You will be an integral part of the Strategic Transport team, with line management responsibility for several staff members.
To join us, you’ll need a professional or postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline at level 6 or equivalent professional experience. You will have a sound understanding of transport planning principles and techniques, as well as evidence of preparing business cases.
You will have a commitment to professional development in a related area. If you are not a member of a relevant professional institution, we can provide assistance to help you achieve this.
