Join our dynamic team at Rotherham Council's Transportation Infrastructure Service as a Transport Programme Manager and spearhead the transformation of our capital programme. We need an experienced and passionate individual to drive the delivery of innovative projects, revolutionising active travel and public transport, and contributing to Rotherham's transition to an inclusive, healthy, and sustainable borough.

As the chosen candidate, you will be the driving force behind exciting initiatives that include enhancing rail connections, pioneering public realm improvements and promoting a transition to a low-carbon transport system. Your experience in leading complex schemes will play a pivotal role in the delivery of our wide ranging and fast paced capital programme.

In this role, initiative, commitment, and drive are essential.  With strong communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent project management and leadership abilities, you'll manage a team of Project Managers and Support Officers, working closely with colleagues in Finance and Procurement to ensure budgetary control and compliance with purchasing standards.  The role also requires working with external contractors, managing individual commissions and large scale design and build contracts.

From 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2024 employees paid at Band D and above are subject to a temporary pay reduction of 1.15% spread out by means of a weekly / monthly deduction (dependent on pay frequency) from each pay period over the full financial year. In recognition of implementing this temporary measure, those who experience a pay reduction will be awarded of three additional day’s leave (pro rata for part-time).
