Principal Transport Planner
Salary Range: £46,536 - £50,559
The Role:

The Sustainable Transport and Engagement team deliver a range of projects and programmes. Our work includes building on the successful delivery of innovative schemes such as the City Fringe Low Emissions Neighbourhood, installation of one of London’s largest Electric vehicle charging programmes, and projects to support walking and cycling. The team prepares strategies and plans, and takes to implementation packages of measures to promote active travel, reshape the public realm and improve air quality. We are looking for a highly experienced and dedicated Principal Transport Planner to lead the team.
The successful candidate will, naturally, have good and effective communication and interpersonal skills. Most importantly a team is in place with excellent abilities and knowledge, ready to be guided by a motivational and empathetic leader.
You should be able to write reports and consultation documents in a clear and concise style ready for use. Comfortable engaging with elected officials, even occasionally outside of normal hours. Able to liaise across disciplines and at all levels.
With multi-million pound projects at early stages, the successful candidate will need to be well organised, with good relevant experience of project management. Well able to assimilate and help improve schedules, budgets and technical drawings.
Ideally you will have a qualification and membership of, or eligibility for membership of a relevant professional body in transport planning or similar fields.
