About the Role
We have an exciting ambition to ensure all people live in a city where our streets and public spaces serve everyone. Cities and Towns where everyone can live and travel safely and healthily, and where nobody is excluded.
We now have a unique opportunity for a talented Engineer to join our team working with local communities to design and deliver outstanding cycling and walking infrastructure.
By providing best-practice street design from conception to delivery, you’ll help us in our vision to allow everyone to travel in ways that benefit their health and wellbeing; creating healthier, happier cities that are accessible to all.
What our staff have to say:
“I’ve been working for Sustrans for almost 18 months now and what has struck me the most is how supportive everyone is – we all make time for each other and share knowledge and experience, to really help projects be the best they can. And the variety of projects really keeps things interesting; they all have unique settings and challenges to be overcome. I’ve also thoroughly enjoyed getting out to see so many different parts of our region!” – Lee Wynd, Sustrans Engineer, Midlands
Our region stretches from the Welsh border to the East coast. and we have three office hubs, Nottingham, Birmingham, and Peterborough. Ideally, we’d like you to be within a sensible commutable distance of these, but we’re also hybrid working so nowhere within the region is too remote or too far.
We are looking for a talented designer who is passionate about infrastructure design, someone who would like the freedom to express themselves creatively.
If you want to enhance your existing skills and develop new ones – we will support your professional development towards incorporated or chartered status.
So, if this sounds like you, apply today and help us create healthier places and happier lives for everyone.
Sustrans has a long-term commitment to being a charity for everyone - reducing inequality, valuing diversity, enabling inclusion and ensuring all people are treated with dignity and respect. We aim to be a truly inclusive employer and welcome applications from people from all parts of the community, in particular from under-represented groups.
