This is an exciting opportunity to join Telford & Wrekin Council’s Highways Asset Management and Capital Programme Team to provide technical advice and support within the Transport and Highway Development Service area.

Telford a new town has its roots in the 1960s but this doesn’t mean we’re stuck in the past. Over the last 50 years the town has grown and developed into a hub of innovation and investment.

Telford & Wrekin Council is ambitious, always looking to develop, improve and attract investment. The Council has recently delivered a number of exciting projects including the new £250m Southwater Development and £12m Box Road Transport Scheme. Over the next three years the Council is embarking on a significant investment programme in the highways and transport network including:

• £1.9m New Telford Bus Station
• £17.3m Telford Growth Point Package
• £3.6m M54 Junction 4
• £12m Telford Town Centre Connectivity Package
• £5m highways capital programme

As a Highways Asset Management Technician you will support the Council’s delivery of highways maintenance in the Borough, this will include updating, maintaining and interrogating asset management and works management systems used by the team, organising permit and traffic management applications for planned and reactive works to ensure that the Council fulfils its duties in relation to the Traffic Management Act (TMA) and New Roads and Streetworks Act (NRSWA), co-ordinating communication activity in relation to the delivery of planned and reactive works and supporting the reactive maintenance service.
