West End Project
The West End Project is one of the largest transport projects to be delivered on London’s streets.

The West End Project will transform the Tottenham Court Road area, making it safer and more attractive for residents, boosting business and creating new public spaces.

We are improving the green spaces and providing a brand new green park in London which will create a lovely oasis. The one-way system will be replaced with two-way tree-lined streets, some protected cycle lanes and new public space. The scheme will reduce congestion and pollution, widen pavements and make bus journeys quicker.

There will be a big increase in people coming to the area with the opening of the Tottenham Court Road Crossrail station in 2018, and we need to make sure that the area is safe and welcoming. This is an exciting role for someone to be involved in a large scale, high profile project and be part of the change taking place to transform one of the most iconic parts of London.

Seeking a Delivery Trial Officer to help deliver Camden’s West End Project

We are currently looking for a Delivery Trial Officer to play a key role in supporting the development and delivery of the West End Project, the single largest public realm and transport investment that Camden has ever proposed and the Council’s highest priority major project.

The role is primarily to develop and project-manage a trial to consolidate and retime deliveries as part of the West End Project, primarily on Tottenham Court Road, Gower Street and New Oxford Street.

Regular liaison with key stakeholders along with specification, collection and analysis of existing delivery and servicing patterns and needs is essential to enable project delivery. You will communicate through engagement/public consultation and negotiation with residents, businesses and Councillors on hours of operation, noise, types of vehicles, access routes etc., on main streets and side streets.

Alongside this, you will lead the development of detailed proposals for a trial including length of trial period and deliver the trial which will include consideration of the use of Camden’s Consolidation Centre. You will monitor the impact of the trial on residents and businesses as well as on the construction of the West End Project and provide project support to the overall West End Project.
