Steiner joins Jacobs from SYSTRA

Tim Steiner (Pictured) has joined consultant Jacobs as a divisional director, based in Edinburgh. He moves from SYSTRA’s Edinburgh office, where he was local and sustainable transport market director.

Cohen to join Westminster University

Tom Cohen is moving to the University of Westminster in January as a senior lecturer in transport. He is currently a senior fellow at University College London’s Centre for Transport Studies.

Dyer named new Cardiff Bus chief

Cardiff Council has appointed Paul Dyer as managing director of municipally-owned bus operator, Cardiff City Transport Services Ltd (trading as ‘Cardiff Bus’). Dyer grew up in south Wales and is a former UK and Ireland chief executive of DHL?Supply Chain. He will take over on 1 January, succeeding Cynthia Ogbonna.

Macbeth electrifies Enterprise

Enterprise Rent-a-Car has appointed Iain Macbeth European innovation partnerships and strategy director (electric vehicle technology). He took a redundancy package this summer from Transport for London, where he was head of foresight.

Noakes quits Liverpool for Belfast

James Noakes has joined Belfast City Council as city innovation broker, responsible for environmental, energy and transport projects in its ‘smart city’ programme and elements of the Belfast Region city deal. He resigned as Liverpool City Council’s cabinet member for city services last month (LTT?02 Aug).

Letten is Steer’s rail market leader

Karen Letten has joined consultant Steer as its European rail market leader, covering the UK and mainland Europe. Letten joined the DfT in 2013 as project director for rail franchising. Last year she moved to Belgian state rail operator SNCB, as corporate strategy director.

TfW appoints TfL’s Everitt as non-exec

Vernon Everitt has been appointed a non-executive director of the Welsh Government’s transport delivery body Transport for Wales. Everitt is Transport for London’s managing director of customers, communication and technology, and its interim managing director for London Underground and TfL engineering.

PTV?appoints new chief executive

Christian Haas has been appointed chief executive officer of German-headquartered transport software firm PTV Group.
